Among the Best Stargazing in the Nation
Bryce Canyon is famous for its clear night skies as there is little pollution attributed to its remote location and high elevations. In 2019, Bryce Canyon gained the International Dark Sky status, which makes them one of the few places in the world with clean air allowing for the skies to become completely dark.
The clear air makes it easy for travelers to gaze into the night skies and see stars, and the Milky Way Galaxy. Travelers are also known to see the Black Mesas, the Andromeda Galaxy and many constellations on most nights.
In help with keeping the night skies clear at Bryce Canyon, consider using the National Parks shuttle system.
To learn more about night skies during our stay, NPS offers a special Ranger Program for visitors in the summer season.
