The Bryce Canyon Visitor Center is a one stop shop for all information about the park. Information about the park, activities, permits, weather updates, and Park Ranger programs. The 20-minute movie, “Shadows of Time” is shown for an hour and half throughout the day. There is also a museum exhibit and bookstore inside.

In the evenings, the National Park Service provides an interpretative program at the Outdoor Theater (south of the North Campground). The topic of each program is subject to change each evening. Park Rangers provide education on the science and history of Bryce Canyon’s astronomy and International Dark Sky status. Sign up the same day at the Visitor’s Center to secure your spot.

Ready for a nocturnal adventure? Sign up for a full moon hike with one of the Park Rangers to explore the night sky. Flashlights and lug traction shoes are required. Children must be 8 years or older. Visit the Bryce Canyon Visitor Center enter the same day lottery ticket system.

Each year the National Park Service and their Rangers host an astronomy festival during the month of June. The festival is usually around the time of the new moon. A collection of speakers and experts attend the festival to discuss astronomy for both the science community and any guests visiting Bryce Canyon National Park.

Calling all bird watchers! Hosted by the National Audubon Society, the Christmas Bird Count is an annual tradition at Bryce Canyon National Park. Guests can become a part of one of the longest running Citizen Science surveys in the world.
